The MP45

Contrary to what is written about the MP45 in the German Assault Rifle book, a rifle was produced at the end of the war with a simplified receiver block (compared to the MP44) and slightly modified receiver shell.

All other parts are apparently interchageable with MP43 series weapons. It is interesting to note that the one and only example I have seen has a threaded muzzle, probably due to the confused state of the German weapons manufacturing at the end of the war. I'm sure whatever could be procured was used, but it is likely that the MP45 series was designed with a simplified muzzle in mind.
