I started Tae Kwon Do when I had gotten back from Easter Vacation in
6th grade in 1993. I think the year is right, but I wouldn't swear to it.
When I first started, I was 13 and a white belt. That was before we had
joined Young Brothers.
Forms are sequences that you would use in a battle. They're designed for
multiple attackers. Most of the moves are practical for a fight, the
remainder is either high rank difficulty or for show(tension blocks).
My high rank forms are called Gwan Ge, Po Eun, and Ge Baek. They sound
weird, however, they're South Korean.
Terminology, or meanings of the forms. The names for the forms are taken
from famous South Korean people and events. For example, my last form is
named after great Admiral Yi Sun Sin who was credited for the invention
of the first armoured battleship.
Board breaks depend on age and gender. One board is subtracted from the
normal amount with females.

Very few people are able to obtain 8th and 9th degree grand master. It is
so rare that one could count the number of grand masters on the planet.
It takes about 3 years to acquire a blackbelt in my school. I acquired
my black belt 11-8-97. About 60% of the adult group are females. Even if a female doesn't have any interest in
martial arts, I still recommend a self-defense course is taken. After all,
chances of being robbed or raped are smaller if the thief or rapist knows
the victim has a chance. Hope you like it. I'd appreciate feedback.
