Tips for Collecting NES stuff

  1. Ask ALL your friends ( and relatives!! They ALWAYS give you a good deal!). I started doing this in 2001, and have found a lot of people who still have their NES stuff. Some will part with their entire collection for some $$$, but some will want to keep it for posterity. I only found one who would part with their collection, but I made off with 12 games (w/original boxes), a game genie, a system, all the hookups, 2 controllers, and a gun, for $25!! Very much worth the year looking...

  2. Check on EBAY!! Ebay is one of the best places to look. If you are looking for sorta common games, you can get them cheap, but if you're looking for something like final fantasy 1, you will have to compete with other people. I've purchased many NES games for $1.00 a piece, and $2.00 shipping. I've attained classics like Blaster Master, Solar Jetman, and Zelda 2 GOLD this way.

  3. Go to yard sales. And lots of them. I went to about 10 over the summer of 2001, and picked up 2 NES systems + a couple games, each bundle only cost $5!

  4. The next place to look would be flea markets. Theres usually someone there selling Nintendo stuff. The only problem is that they usually charge 2-5 dollars a game. If the games are worth the 3 bucks, buy them!

  5. Place #5 - retail stores. Like Ames, K-Mart, EB, And last but not least, Funcoland. These places sometimes have games, but usually sell for even more that flea markets. Sometimes you can find a real gem in these places though!
