Below are pictures from the recent UMKC production of Macbeth.
They explain the load-in process for a turntable stage and set.

The first step is attaching over 150 laser-leveled castors to the floor, wheel side up. The 40’ revolving turntable is then put together section by section… 65 sections to be exact. The table is controlled by a master-slave computer processor which sends information to an electric motor. The motor then turns a cable that wraps all the way around the edge of the table.
The next step is to lay down all of the stage decking that cover the table. The decking in this particular production was painted to look like the floor of a certain cathedral in Scotland
Next, a series of elevated platforms and a curved staircase are attached to the top of the turntable and welded into place
A thrust stage is then built downstage of the turntable. Below this thrust stage is a hydraulic lift which descends twenty feet below the stage.
