NHLPA PLAYER BIO

Marty Turco was drafted 124th overall in the 1994 Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars. He made his NHL debut on October 10, 2000 against the Hurricanes. Ten nights later, he earned his first victory in a 5-1 win over the Blackhawks. Later that season, he earned his first shutout on January 6 in a 4-0 win over the Bruins. By year's end, Marty ranked first in the league with a 1.90 goals-against average and a 92.5 save percentage. He posted a 13-6-1 record in 26 games as Ed Belfour's goaltending partner and helped the Stars win the Pacific Division title. In the playoffs, Marty and the Stars reached the second round.
