Life in a Zoo
Trapped behind cold steel
smiling and waving idiots
pass you by
like your in some kind of damb pride parade
ears deaf to all the roaring and indignant
cries
Heart beating, Yes STILL beating
It beats faster with the pace of your step
You wonder
can these soulless man creatures be trained to
compassion?
If so, would they choose to use it?
incarcerated rage welling against your jailer
and the reality that only he holds your precious key
enclosed and alone at aggression's gate
entertaining only when to pounce
