GOD WAS ABSENT

God was absent from school today.

Someone said he went away.

I wonder if he broke a special rule,

To ge expelled from our school.

God was absent again today.

The teacher said we couldn't pray.

He put his Bible in a drawer.

He said he couldn't read it anymore.

I went and talked to God today.

To see why he went away.

As he talked I bowed my head,

To hear the words he sadly said.

Some judges passed a special rule,

To keep me out of your school.

But I'm not the type to hold a grudge.

One of these days I'll be the judge.
