Church of the Brethren Home

The Church of the Brethren Home in Windber , Pa. was founded in 1921 by the Western Pa. District.  The Brethren Homes mission and purpose is to remain a not-for-profit, caring community serving the needs of aging adults by providing quality health care, retirement living, spiritual enrichment, comfortable residency, and an environment meeting physical, social, and emotional needs. The Brethren Home has grown quite a lot since 1921.   

 

 

 

 

Today the main nursing home offers 134 licensed nursing care beds and 64 licensed personal care beds.  The campus also includes 8 independent living apartments at its Taufer Place facility, 41 cottages at its Orchard Point Community, and 17 assisted living apartments at its Pettikoffer facility.  The Brethren Home is a multi skilled, full service care facility for the aging members of our congregations and the communities that we serve.  The Home maintains an open admission policy with no distinction as to race or religion.
