I recently discovered how to use an Elvish font I downloaded from Council of Elrond, and made some new wallpapers! Hope you like them. Let me know if you have any requests!
A picture of the Nine Walkers, with their names in Tengwar script. Incidentally, the names of the hobbits that I used are their "real" names, not the ones used in the books, which were "translated". So Frodo=Maura, Sam=Banazir, Merry=Kalimac and Pippin=Razanur. Also, Gandalf's name is the Elvish version, Mithrandir. The Tengwar over Arwen reads "Arwen Undómiel" and over Aragorn, "Aragorn Elessar". I suppose I really could've written "Aragorn Arathornion" or "Elessar Telcontar", but anyway. My personal favorite. The Tengwar reads "Eldar", which is the Elvish for "Elves". Incidentally, the elf is a random elf from the movie. I think he's one of the warriors that flank Celeborn and Galadriel on their entrance in FotR. Another favorite. The Elvish reads, Narlyë nat vanya, which means, You beautiful thing. It's about the closest you can get in Elvish to "You sexy thing". Credit to the essay, What Tolkein Officially Said About Elf Sex, which despite its title, is a very good read. I also recommend the other essays on the Ansereg Essays Page, particularly if you write LotR fanfiction. This one was inspired by the ongoing discussion (read: friendly argument) between my roomie and me on whether elves or men are better. The Tengwar reads, "Eldar! Edain!", which means, "Elves! Men!" For all you Elf/Ranger fanciers out there. What can I say. Actors' funny facial expressions give me ideas. Even the best writers write some Mary-Sues. Even, dare I say it, Tolkein? :D The "All that is gold does not glitter" poem The "Where are the Dunedain" poem Both on the death of Aragorn, although with different parts of the text. Bilbo tempted by the Ring, with book text. The "Where is the horse and the rider" poem What Faramir says to Eowyn on the wall of Minas Tirith right before he kisses her. :) The script is "Galadriel" in Tengwar. The first and last stanzas of a hymn to Elbereth Galadriel's words to Frodo. Seemed appropriate, with the mirror in the foreground. Galadriel tempted The moment Galadriel completely enchants Gimli, over a very sweet picture of her. Gandalf and his famous line The last word in the book of Khazad-dum. Rather dramatic... More Gandalf, in Minas Tirith. Silhouette of Gandalf, Frodo and Sam leaving the Shire. Galadriel's warning to Legolas Legolas' song about the Sea The three bearers of the Elven Rings. The Tengwar is the names of the rings: Narya, Nenya and Vilya. The One Ring. From a picture I had of a movie poster. It's very striking; I have it up as my own desktop at the moment. Other wallpapers I made this wallpaper as an April Fool's joke, which I played on both my parents. Just replace the victim's wallpaper with this and watch their expression... Just make sure there aren't any icons over the message box, or it doesn't look real. I'll take requests to put this message box or others overtop of a wallpaper image so you can customize your trickster experience. The quote was one I read on a very funny poster... Perhaps not what you're expecting. The pictures come from Windows wallpapers.
