ALSO: Shawn Michaels offered WWE Universe his farewell address. It didn’t seem real. How could it? How could Shawn Michaels, after an unparalleled 25-year career, really be saying goodbye? After losing his Streak vs. Career Match against The Undertaker, however, that’s precisely what happened. Emotions ran high throughout the WWE Universe as The Deadman entered the U.S. Airways Center and tipped his hat to the opponent that came closest to ending his WrestleMania winning streak. Before that show of respect, HBK had entered to a standing ovation to address the crowd. He thanked his friend Triple H, Mr. McMahon, Bret Hart, his family and the WWE Universe for the greatest ride of his life. And for the final time, he said with tears in his eyes, “Ladies and gentlemen, The Heartbreak Kid, Shawn Michaels, has left the building.”

ALSO: A powder keg of anger, resentment and frustration is set to explode inside the ring in just six days when, after 12 long years, Bret Hart prepares to fight his nemesis Mr. McMahon. With that in mind, The “Hit Man” addressed the WWE Universe, ensuring that he would administer one of the “worst beatings” ever to The Chairman with the Hart family in the audience to witness. Mr. McMahon, however, came out to offer this somewhat cryptic warning: “What can I say, Bret? One way or another … you’re screwed.”

ALSO: After inviting Mr. McMahon and his WrestleMania opponent Bret Hart to the ring, special guest host “Stone Cold” Steve Austin did what he does best – made The Chairman squirm. Austin announced that, under his orders, Bret Hart’s father, Stu, would be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2010. Austin then recalled how tough The “Hit Man” was in their WrestleMania 13 match as his fellow WWE Hall of Famer signed the match contract. As Mr. McMahon glared across the table at his hobbled opponent’s crutches and broken leg, he also gleefully signed his name to the document. And that’s when the trap was slowly, sweetly revealed. As Austin departed, he implored Hart to “tell Vince.” Much to Mr. McMahon’s chagrin, The Excellence of Execution then tossed his crutch aside, removed his cast and informed the man who had screwed him more than 12 years earlier that his leg was perfectly fine. He also told a shocked Chairman that if he tried to back out of their match, he would sue him for every cent just before he clobbered The Chairman with his cast. As a final verbal backhand, Hart paraphrased Mr. McMahon from 12 years ago: "Vince just screwed Vince.”

ALSO: Broken bones be damned! That’s how strong Bret Hart’s anger is toward Mr. McMahon. After suffering a broken leg in an auto accident two weeks ago on Raw, the WWE Hall of Famer appeared to say a final farewell to the WWE Universe, but The Chairman had other ideas. Instead, he provoked his longtime nemesis, hoping to get Hart to agree to a match at WrestleMania. Knowing he’ll be at a distinct disadvantage, even with recovery time, The “Hit Man” accepted Mr. McMahon’s challenge. All of which means, more than 12 years of hostilities will finally come to a head inside the squared circle at WrestleMania. Perhaps in preparation, The Chairman even announced that he will face John Cena next Monday on Raw.
ALSO: There was one place not to be on Monday night: Between two of the biggest, baddest Superstars WWE has ever known. After getting popped last week with a low blow from WWE Champion Batista, John Cena called out The Animal. Accompanied by a security detail, Batista confronted his WrestleMania rival, telling him that the security was to ensure he doesn’t decimate Cena like he did the week before. The men traded barbs before The Animal told Cena that he attacked him because he feels cheated, cheated that it is Cena who has become the “face of WWE.” While the two men started in WWE at the same time, Cena has emerged the more high-profile Superstar, and now Batista was going to rectify that on The Grandest Stage of Them All, WrestleMania. The WWE Champion’s tirade left Cena in a condition he rarely finds himself: Speechless.

RAW RESULTS - 2/22/10
Maryse def. Gail Kim to become the NEW WWE DIVA'S CHAMPION
Kofi Kingston, Evan Bourne & Yoshi Tatsu def. Randy Orton & The Legacy
Christian def. Carlito (Money in the Bank Qualifying Match)
Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz def. Mark Henry & MVP
John Cena def. WWE Champion Batista by Disqualification
ALSO:Shawn Michaels found himself running out of options. He wanted desperately to face The Undertaker again at WrestleMania, but he couldn’t figure out how to make it happen – until last night. HBK interrupted the World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Match and superkicked The Deadman, allowing Chris Jericho to win the title. As a result, The Undertaker confronted Michaels tonight and put his WrestleMania undefeated streak on the line by accepting HBK’s rematch challenge … under one condition. If The Phenom wins, The Showstopper must retire!
ALSO: Thought Edge might let bygones be bygones? Not bloody likely. When newly-minted World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho opened Raw and began boasting about how he defeated The Undertaker and four others in the Elimination Chamber to night before, The Rated-R Superstar could no longer take it. Edge had heard Jericho’s boasting before. While he endured an excruciating recovery from a torn Achilles tendon, The Rated-R Superstar listened to his former tag team partner claim credit for their championship accomplishments. Consider it payback time. After outlasting 29 opponents at the Royal Rumble, The Ultimate Opportunist had an enviable decision to make: For which World Championship would he choose to compete at WrestleMania. Edge made his decision loud and clear when he climbed into the ring and dropped Jericho with a spear just before proclaiming to the entire WWE Universe that he will be challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship.

RAW RESULTS - 2/15/10
WWE Champion Sheamus def. Randy Orton by Disqualification
Mark Henry & MVP def. Unified Tag Team Champions Big Show & The Miz in a Non-Title Match
Ted DiBiase def. Kofi Kingston
John Cena vs. Triple H ended in a No Contest
ALSO: After weeks of betrayal and humiliation at the hands of Mr. McMahon, Bret Hart addressed the WWE Universe. The WWE Hall of Famer explained that he had hoped to make peace but to no avail. He then wanted to fight The Chairman at WrestleMania to settle their differences once and for all. Again, no dice. After several frustrations, he explained, he was leaving for good but wanted to thank the Superstars and fans who supported him. However, as The Excellence of Execution left the arena, an unidentified woman accidentally smashed her car into Hart, pinning his legs between her car and another automobile. Hart was immediately rushed away in an ambulance.

U.S. Champion The Miz & Big Show def. Unified Tag Team Champions DX and Straight Edge Society
Gail Kim def. Jillian
Cody Rhodes def. Randy Orton
Ted DiBiase vs. John Cena ended in a No Contest
ALSO: After his match, John Cena called out both Batista and Mr. McMahon, but only The Chairman showed, accompanied by a phalanx of security. After berating Mr. McMahon regarding his actions toward Bret Hart the week before, Cena convinced The Chairman to accept a match with the WWE Hall of Famer at WrestleMania. When Hart, who had been banned from the arena, actually showed and retaliated against his longtime nemesis, however, Mr. McMahon retreated behind his security and canceled the bout. Needless to say, The “Hit Man” was none too pleased and went on a tear inside the Cajundome.

RAW RESULTS - 2/1/10 (Royal Rumble Fallout)

Triple H def. Jack Swagger in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Randy Orton def. Shawn Michaels in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Ted DiBiase def. Mark Henry in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
Kofi Kingston def. Big Show in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
ALSO: It’s been nearly a month since Mr. McMahon’s most recent betrayal of Bret Hart, when he lauded the WWE Hall of Famer just before kicking him in the gut. Tonight was payback time, or, at least it was supposed to be. While The “Hit Man” fired off a few choice words regarding The Chairman’s character and scruples, Mr. McMahon shot back with a few scathing words of his own.
Bret snapped, though, when The Chairman revoked the WWE Hall of Fame induction of Hart’s father and legendary trainer, Stu. That’s when The “Hit Man” retaliated against his longtime rival. Before he could truly pummel Mr. McMahon, though, Batista charged the ring and attacked Bret. As The Animal held Hart, Mr. McMahon berated him and, in shades of 12 years ago, actually spat on the Hall of Famer.
