Faded Letters
Just
this one day ,
Will
I reopen the satin box ...
Only one last
time...
This fragile
heart I will unlock.
The Satin
box
High on a shelf
filled with memories...
Yellowed Letters
of a time
Of How things
used to be.
And as I read I
think I
hear
Your
gentle voice whisper in my ear...
Just for today ,
Just once more
I need to feel
you near.
Brittle pages,
faded lines
Remembering
another place in time
Life was
endlessly sublime
Pledges of love
forever undying.
Painful vision
My eyes do see
Faded Paper, In
a satin box ...
Now this is but
a memory
Opened now,
unlocks my heart.
Your words I
read
To bring you
near...
In my mind
Your voice
I hear .
"
Read My words
While I'm away
from you...
Remember that
I love you
true."
Over again I
read each line
For words are
all that's left...
Letters in a
satin box
Of memories I
can't forget.
