Angel has moved to Los Angeles, about a 30 minute or so drive from the town of Sunnydale. He left behind the only woman he has ever loved, Buffy Summers. It was hard for Angel to leave and it was hard for Buffy to let him go. The two will always be together no matter what. Their love will last the test of eternity, forever is the word for their ever lasting love. They will be together in the future, it all depends on when. For 244 years, Angel has walked th earth in search of many things. He is from Ireland, Galway to be exact. He was turned into a vampire by his Sire, Darla, who he killed in season number one of "Buffy". He had not a bit of soul for more than a hundred years, offering pain and torture and eventually death to everyone he had met. Until he fed upon the daughter of a Gypsy clan. His soul was returned to him, leaving him being a vampire with a soul, a heart of compassion of caring, a difficult life for one who needs to feed on blood in order to survive. He traveled to Los Angeles to see Buffy as a freshman in high school, he also witnessed her calling as the Slayer by the Watcher Merrick who was killed. Angel fell in love with the Slayer from the first time he saw her, and Buffy felt the same way, although they're love for each other was not too evident at the begining. Angel became a major part of the gang, fighting demons of all kinds, and friendships were formed all around. Angel was turned back to his fromer self mid-way through the second season and Buffy had to kill him to save the world. However, Angel was released from Hell as his soul had been re-given to him by a spell done by Willow, Oz and Cordelia.
He came back, was nursed back to health and the gang was back together, but the relationship between Angel and Buffy had become too complicated for the moment, therefore he took his mind and soul to Los Angeles where he plans on doing some thinking and soul searching while preparing for one day being with Buffy again. But in the meantime, as Buffy and the gang start College and what not, Angel tries to make Amends in LA.
