THE CIARQ LIBRARY

The CIARQ library is a specialized collection of books, articles, theses and journals dealing with archaeology and related topics. This non-circulating collection is available by appointment for use by researchers and students. The library actively collects in the areas of Andean archaeology, archaeological method and theory (including theoretical approaches and specialized techniques such as textile, ceramic, lithic, faunal, floral, and human osteological analysis), world archaeology, Andean ethnohistory, journals dealing with archaeology and related topics, Andean environment and paleoenvironment, and Andean anthropology in general.

CIARQ LIBRARY USE POLICIES

1. The CIARQ library is open to researchers and students. Those wishing to use the library will be asked to show evidence that they are affiliated with or sponsored by a recognized research or educational institution. Students will be required to show a student I.D.

2. CIARQ library materials do not circulate. They may be read on the premises of CIARQ.

3. Use of the CIARQ library is by appointment with the CIARQ director, Augusto Cardona (telephone 054-281442, e-mail ciarq@terra.com.pe).

4. CIARQ library privileges will be revoked in the case of misuse, damage, or removal of bibliographic materials.

For those with high speed connections to the internet, the entire contents of the library are listed on a single web page. For those with slower connections, the listings are divided into smaller groupings.

REQUEST FOR DONATIONS

CIARQ relies largely on donations of bibliographic materials to build the library. Donations of books, journals, thesis, and reprints in all the areas listed above are welcome. Donations to CIARQ may be sent directly to Casilla 2376, Correo Central, Arequipa, Peru, or to one of several people in the United States who will carry or send items to CIARQ.
