Golden Wedding Will Be Celebrated Sunday at Hawkins Home Near Chehalis
The wedding ceremony was read at Ethel March 5, 1893, by Mrs. Hawkins' father, the Rev. I. Phillips.
Mr. Hawkins was born April 12, 1868, at Oskaloosa, Iowa, and lived in Kansas and Nebraska before coming to Winlock with his mother and father when he was 16 years of age.
Mrs. Lucinda Hawkins was born February 19, 1877, at Knoxville, Tennessee, coming to Winlock with her parents when she was 10 years of age.
Operate Dairy Farm
Mr. and Mrs. Hawkins have lived in and around Napavine since their marriage. They have operated a dairy farm 2 1/2 miles from Napavine for 31 years.
They have 10 children all living. They are Mrs. Catherine Nail and Mrs. Laura Hill, San Francisco; Mrs. Clara Doyle and Mrs. Ruth Runngren, Seattle; Mrs. Mabelle Kaeser, Tacoma; J. W. Hawkins, Chehalis; Jess, Alpha; Charles, Seattle; Cecil, Winnemucca, Nevada, and Lt. Commander George F. Hawkins, in the navy. There are 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Because of an illness which struck Mr. Hawkins several weeks ago, the day will be observed with a family dinner, but without fanfare.
