Show Info and Summary

In the moments between life and death, calm and crisis, there are the unsung heroes. The crack team of paramedics stare death in the face every day, and walk the thin line between existence and demise. They are Kathleen Ryan (Marjorie Monaghan), Wick Lobo (Christian Kane), and Michael Bell (Victor Browne), a tight trio of medics working for the Los Angeles Fire Authority, overseen by Captain Durfee (Richard Roundtree). They're in it for the job, the thrill...and each other.

Senior partner Kathleen Ryan is the venerable one. She's compassionate and absolutely loves what she does. She's returning to the job after a burn-out, only to find her partners aren't exactly welcoming her back with open arms. She's the one with all the zingers, and she puts the fear of God into the firemen. She's the one who cares too much, who lets every run, every patient, become personal. She puts all her faith....her whole life...in the hands of her partners, and can't seem to rebound when they let her slip.

Michael Bell is the determined one. He's quiet, but voices his opinion when he feels it should be heard. With Ryan's return, he is struggling to be the glue to the faltering group. He finds it hard to say no, but even harder to say yes. He's the peace maker to his partners, who often take out their anger on each other. He's been hurt many times in his life, and finds as he goes on that his struggles with intimacy are affecting the way he views life.

Wick Lobo is the overzealous one. He's a cowboy who constantly practices "gutter medicine". His temper is not easily controlled, and he will do just about anything to save a patient. He gets out of line, but his partners always manage to straighten him out. With Ryan's burn out and Bell's family problems, he finds himself going through personal things alone, and keeps most of his inner turmoil and fears locked inside, and they always manage to come out at the wrong time.

Captain Durfee oversees the tight unit and kicks them all back into line when necessary. He is tough as nails on the outside, but on the inside he really does care about them all. He gives no special treatment, but often lends an ear.

Rescue 77 tells the story of three of Los Angeles' bravest heroes at their best..and often times at their worse. It is a story of bravery and courageousness, yet fear and vulnerability. It tells of games of the heart, and brushes with death. The story shown here will move and captivate you. Make you laugh, make you cry. But always paint a picture of their lives....
