ANCIENT EGYPT LAB

 

This lab takes you to a Webquest at the following address:

 At the web site there are six missions spelled out. You do not need to do the various missions, but you do need to answer the following questions by visiting the various web sites the missions link to.

 

Begin by clicking on the "I accept this mission" spot for Mission One and answer the following questions about daily life in Ancient Egypt.

  1. (People of Ancient Egypt) Which occupation in Ancient Egypt required you to go to school?
  2. (Daily Life) Why did Egyptians wear so much jewelry and use so much cosmetics?
  3. (What was Life like in Ancient Egypt) Why is so much known about Ancient Egypt’s civilization?
  4. (Social Pyramid) List in order of importance the various levels of Egyptian society?
  5. (Egyptian Farmer) What were the three seasons of a farmer’s year in Egypt?
  6. (Egyptian Farmer) What did farmers use to pay taxes?
  7. (Egyptian Slaves) Where were most Egyptian slaves from? Egypt or elsewhere?
  8. (Egyptian Soldier) What did soldiers do to keep busy during peace time?
  9. Click the "I Accept" button for Mission 3 on Mummification and answer the following.

  10. (National Geographic Mummies) How did the Egyptians remove the brain from a body before mummification?
  11. (National Geographic Mummies) What did Egyptians do with the organs after they were removed?
  12. (National Geographic Mummies) What was Natron and what did it do?
  13.  Click the "I Accept" button for Mission 5 on Hieroglyphics and answer the following.
