One of the most difficult carvings I have done, because of the tail position. Two blocks were glued together to get the wood grains running parallel in one plane, and vertical in the other. Each feather was carved, wood burned and then individually painted. The head was carved separately, and then attached before final detailing. This is a 1/3 of full size carving. |
