Thinking

This Christmas
When the air is full of joys,
When all the girls and boys,
Open their new toys.

When you think of all things good,
When you eat your Christmas pud.
When pulling crackers, you should
Spare a thought.
That's all.

30 seconds, 40 seconds
As much as you can spare
Think of the children out there
Who want a Christmas present of care.
Spare a thought.
That's all.

The youngsters with hunger so great,
Nothing on their Christmas plate.
A ghost of Christmas future
Isn't written in their fate.
Spare a thought.
That's all.

Go ahead, enjoy the day
Love each other, smile and say
"Merry Christmas!"
But along the way,
Spare a thought.
Just spare a thought.
That's all.

Home Is Where The Heart Is.

I'm nowhere near them,
Yet I hold them so tight.
I sleep far away
But we're so close at night.

Come Christmas time be
With your family so dear.
I'm absent in body,
In spirit so near.

Christmas is a link
Between Sisters and Brothers.
It joins chains of Love
Towards Fathers and Mothers.

For Christmas and Love
Are partners, as one.
And when they combine,
That great distance is gone.

I'm there, and they're here
And we're never apart.
For we are a Family,
Together at heart.

"Christmas Is A Time For Love."

I hurried down an alley one Christmas Eve night
When I heard a rustling to my right
And a small, pale child stepped in to the light.

Looking deep into my eyes, with a face so worn
Faint smile upon cold lips, though his clothes were torn
Yet no more beautiful a child, ever was born.

Raw hands clasped together, remains of one glove,
He came close, whispered "remember," gazing above:
"Christmas is a time for Love."

Away he slid in to the gutter
But I never forgot his heartfelt mutter,
That rough life but words as smooth as butter:

"Christmas is a time for Love."

In my heart I heard his cry
But for him this Christmas, no love was nigh...
I never found out if he'd live or die.

"Christmas is a time for Love."

Many years on, his soft words I still hear
And I hold to me close all my loved ones so near -
For I've learnt they're the greatest gift, each and every year.
Because,

"Christmas is a time for Love."
