The art of collecting occupies one's leisure time; it contributes to a new meaning of life; it contributes
to a child education by inculcating in him a taste for the beautiful and for research by stimulating his
curiosity. This, in its turn, encourages communication between enthusiasts themselves.
It can also provide relaxation, a sort of "games for grown ups" in which the young can also take part. These games, which need not be time consuming, are probably less expensive than certain other frivolous pleasures, and offer their own counterpart of satisfaction which dissolve the worries of everyday life. |
