Peter Ginis was born on February 25th 1965. He started to play the guitar at fifteen, influenced by hardrock music from bands such as Foreigner, AC/DC and traditional music such as Alan Stivell. He learned from watching other musicians play and never had any musical education. The music started off as a simple hobby. He played in several amateurbands until years later he discovered the accoustic guitar. |
He became intrigued by classical music for guitar and wanted to do more than just play in his free time. At first he took up the idea of performing as a solo guitarist, but being able to play an eveningfilling concert by heart - Peter doesn't read music- would take him years of practice . Still he wanted to share his work with an audience. The idea to bring out a CD was born. The first piece he studied was Air on the G-string by Bach. That was in the winter of 1997. One year later he finished recording nine pieces, one of wich is his own. During this year he practised very disciplined for eight hours every day. Sometimes it was hard and the thought of giving up would cross his mind. Today he can be proud he made it. You'll find that Peter interpreted the works of Bach in his own way and added some capricious notes here and there.
