John was a true son of Texas, strong, tall and straight talking-a man of his word who had reached the highest levels of his profession. He was also immensely proud of his Irish Heritage and when he learned of the difficulties that I was experiencing in my attempt to form a concert band, he resolved to help me in any way he could. Through his generosity Riversdale Concert Band is now a reality. Our prayers are with his wife Sheila and his children,especially Sean who is struggling with a serious illness at present.Thank you John and I know that the sound of music is ringing out loud and clear in Riversdale because of your efforts.
