The Family of Carter Shipp and Jane Sullivan of Green Co, Kentucky

Carter and Jane had seven children. Mary E. was born in 1833 in Green County Kentucky. She married William Ewing. Almira was born in 1838 in Green County Kentucky. She married William Perry Stone. Rebecca was born in Green County Kentucky in 1842. She married Abraham Lockett. Barbara Anne was born in 1845 in Taylor County Kentucky. She married Miles Graham Taylor. Arminta Ruth Shipp was my 2nd great grandmother. She was born about 1846 in Green or Taylor County Kentucky. She died on the 2 nov 1893 at Southern Home, Logan, Arkansas. She married Andrew Jackson Sizemore on the 21 Sep 1863 in Logan County Arkansas. Andrew was born ona the 12 Feb. 1838 in Perry Sounty Kentucky. He died on the 5 June 1916 in Logan County Arkansas. The sixth child born to Carter and Jane was Sarah Esabell, born about 1849 in Kentucky. She married Christopher Sizemore brother to Andrew Jackson Sizemore. Henry Taylor Shipp was the youngest child and was born in Kentucky Town, Grayson, Texas on the 3 of Dec. 1851. He married Mariah Cornett.

Carter and Jane moved from Kentucky to Texas about 1850. They have never been found listed in the 1850 census, so they must have been travelling during that time. Jane passed away about 1857 in Kentucky Town Grayson, Texas. Carter and the family lived in kentucky Town until about 1867, when they moved to Madison County Arkansas. So, Arminta lived in Texas until she was 17, and almost grown. Later, in Madison County, Carter married Elizabeth Moss. They had children:James Carter, bor on 27 Aug. 1867 in Madison County Arkansas. The next child was Josiah, born about 1869 in Madison County. The youngest of their children was William H. born about 1873 in Madison County.
