Our Flag and Country
Flag Description: The Malaysian flag features fourteen equal horizontal stripes of red alternating with white. A blue rectangle in the upper hoist-side corner of the flag bears a yellow crescent and a yellow fourteen-pointed star, which are traditional symbols of Islam. Location: Malaysia is a peninsula located in Southeastern Asia, south of Thailand. and part of it also covers the northern one-third of the island of Borneo bordering the Java Sea and the South China Sea.

The original name was Sekolah Rendah Georgertown as it was next to Georgetown Secondary School. Then, it was agreed to be named according to the road where it was situated (Lorong Batu Lanchang). On the 6th January 1969, Batu Lanchang Primary School was housed at Penang Free School in the afternoon session till the new building was constructed in Lorong Batu Lanchang. The new building was completed and ready to be used on 30th June 1969. This building was then handed by the director of Education Department of Penang, Mr.Tan Teik Beng to the school management in July 1969. the school started of with 7 classes comprising of 245 students (boys and girls) placed in standard 1 and 10 teachers including the first principal, Mr. Lim Chiang Choo. Thus, the school was named Batu Lanchang Primary School. After a few months, the board of governors of Batu Lanchang Primary School was established on 7th May 1970 and Mr. Chua Khye Guan was made the chairman. The Parents' and Teachers' Association was established on 19 June 1971 with Mr. Kwa Eng Lim as the first chairman.
