My Reviews!
A classic war story, filmed in a totally new way. It's classic because the plot is very similar to the war stories of the 60's and the 70's. But it is far more realistic than any of the other war movies. You will not be able to get it out of your head for a few days. The cinematography is superb. The constant shaking of the camera, makes you feel that you are really there. The battle scenes are somewhat horrifying. Untill now, I always viewed war movies as pure entertainmetn. They never really made me think about war and it's horrors. But this movies actually made me think about those stuff. I mean, after seeing this movie, you'll realize that war isn't fun!! Alright, maybe you already know that, but you'll REALLY know it when you see this movie. Anyways, it's a must see. 9 out of 10.
I kinda have mixed feelings about this movie! It had the elements to qualify it az a good movie, it has many hilarious scenes, but somehow it wasn't that catchy! you know what I mean? I guess maybe the plot isn't strong and solid enough. Yet it's still a delightful movie certainly worth seing. Robert de Nero is absoloutely wonderful. He has never been so hilarious. His Italian companions are prett funny too. Yes, it's a good comedy. A 7 out of 10.
... heavenly!! A miniature masterpiece! This Iranian movie is the first in a long while that saticfies both the Iranian non-Iranian audience. Up untill now, most movies that were considered to be masterpieces by western critics, were not hugely popular with the iranian viewers. Children of heaven has a simple story, which I'm not going to narrate again, because you have probably heard it enough times...or maybe you haven't. Alright what the heck!
Ali loses her sisters shoes and since their father is very poor they decide to keep it a secret and since they only have one pair left, they have to share. Zahra wears them to school in the morning and runs back home so Ali can wear them in the afternoon. After a few witty subplots, including a delightful trip to the northern part of Tehran in search of a part time job in the elegant villas of rich people, we come to the climax of the movie, the running race. Ali finds out about a race going on in the city of Tehran between all schools and the third prize is a pair of sneakers (and two weeks of camping!) Ali is determined to be the third in the race.
The race scene is very emotional. he becomes first!! The ironic and powerful scene is when a photographer is taking pictures of Ali, the champ, and he is crying!!! Alright, do you want me to give away the final scene too?? ..... naaah , I won't. Oh and one advice. If ANY movie theater within a radius of 50 kilometers from your house is showing this movie, you would be a total fool not to see this movie!! It totally deserves the four stars it recieved and the oscar nomination. A solid 10 out of 10.
The theatrical trailer in bad quality realvideo!
Godzilla was simply dreadful! It was probably the worst movie i have ever seen!
The dialogues, the plot , the characters, they all sucked. The whole city of new
york is evacuated in like a few hours and it seems deserted with Godzilla running
around the buildings and army helicopters following the dino around this maze of
buldings. It's amazing how the helicopters miss this huge gigantic creature. they
get like one in each 50 shots on target and the other 49 shots blow up the buildings
of the city!!!out of a 10 scale i will give this movie a -10 !!!
Another typical hollywood movie but at least this one does not work on your nerves
like godzilla does!!! It's always enjoyable to see anthony hopkins. Antonio Banderas
is quite cool too.A 5 out of 10! this movie has some brilliant sword fighting scenes and cool stuunts.
It is an entertaining movie, but the ending is too cliche, but then again, they all are!
Catherine zeta-jones is very beautiful and contributse a great deal to the movie's appeal!
This is a film you either love or hate. I hated it!! (what a surprise!)
Call me lame but i did not really find any scene funny. I was amazed how everybody were laughing they're bones off, maybe i wasn't in the mood. But again here Cameron Diaz played a significant role in keeping me in the cinema. What would a movie be without a beautiful woman anyway??!! 3 out of 10.
Another Italian movie. Frankly, I didn't like this movie very much. With all the publicity it recieved and all the oscar nominations and international awards, I expected a better movie. It is by no means a bad film, and it's definately worth seing once, but don't waste a lot of money on it, going to a high-tech movie theatre!! It doesn't have special effects anyways!! Roberto Benigni's performance is wonderful, but the same can not be said about Nicoletta Braschi's performance (who in real life is in fact benigni's real wife!)
Benigni wrote and directed the movie. I don't want to give away the story. The general plot is a tragic comedy based on the holocaust and world war 2. Benigni plays a jew whom is arrested along with his young son and wife and is sent to a concentration camp. All the time he is trying to convince his son that all this is only a game and all people on the camp (the jews) are competing in the game to get the first prize, which is a real tank!!! I give this movie a 6.5 out of 10!
