Van Damme portrays a 1920s street criminal whose run from the police thrusts him into forbidding realm of gun smugglers, pirates and an ancient, underworld martial artrs competition. The legendary contest, known as the Ghan-gheng, pits the world's deadliest fighters against each other in a furious winner-take-all battle. Forced to compete, Van Damme faces the ultimate test of manhood where one wrong move could cost him not only the competition, but his life.

Roger Moore co-stars in this spectacular epic that holds audiences spellboudn with its ancient mystery, stunning scenery and thrilling action.

Overview: A good movie for Van Damme fans because it contains a bunch of martial arts but if you are a Van Damme fan for his late films full of hard core action and bullets this might not please you much..

Acting: B-, Van Damme gives a good performance as does Roger Moore.

Dialogue: C, Good story and heading toward the right place but not well written the dialogue was weak.

Directing: B, Van Dammes directorial debut proves to be a sucess with The Quest. Lots of action and you can see that Van Damme had everything how he wanted it before he started filming.

Reason Behind the Rating:

Violence: Not much more of a bloodiless film.

Sex/Nudity: None.

Drugs/Alcohol: Some drinking.

Language: Very brief.
