Louis Ypen Bing was born in 1961 in a small village called Buon Le. This village is surrounded with a beautiful lake and green mountains. He belongs to a small Montagnard tribe called Mnong Rahlam.  The Mnong Rahlam population is about 20,000 people  living in District of Lak, Province of Daklak, Central Highland of South Vietnam. Linguistically, Mnong Rahlam language is a branch of a big family called Mon-Khmer or Khmer which is the main language of Cambodia today.

For living, Mnong Rahlam people grow rice in paddy fields, fishing in the lake nearby and hunting in green mountains. These people have a rich culture, with thousand of legends, playing many special type of musical instruments such as Gong, bamboo flute, drum ... my favorite music of Mnong Rahlam is "Gong Kpe" accopanied by a big drum when playing. This music makes people dance easily after drinking some home made rice wine !!!
