Development
First flown on 19 May 1986, this new variant was designed after the highly successful series of Hawk trainers.
Malaysian Hawk 200s
On 10 December 1990, 10 two-seat Hawk Mk 108s and 18 single seat Hawk Mk 208s for a £400 million deal. The Hawk 200 are fitted the APG-66H radar. Other system s includes IFF(Indetification Friend of Foe), INS(Inertial Navigation system), HUDWAC (Head-Up Display Weapons Aiming Computer) and RWR (Radar Warning Receiver). Hawk 200s were reported to have intercepted Filipino OV-10 Bronco scout aircraft over the Spratly Islands.
Weapon Options
No gun is fitted , but Aden 30mm gun pods can be fitted on the centerline hardpoint. Fuel tanks can be put there in place of the gunpods and also on the inbound underwing plyons. Sidewinder AAMs can be carried on wingtip and outbound launchers. The usual load of Mk-82, -83 and -84s dumb or guided bombs can be carried on underwing plyons. Max load is 3000 kilos.
