Size; 15 cm (6 in). Dark blue upperparts lacking metallic sheen. Orange rufous underparts extending all the way down to belly. Occurs in the Malay Peninsula to the Greater Sundas, Sulawesi and the Philippines. Resident at low elevation Kedah south to Singapore where it is confined to island Pulau Tekong Besar. Usually found in mangroves and adjacent scrub in the middle and lower storeys.
