Asian Paradise-Flycatcher (Terpsiphone paradisi)

21 cm (8.5 in). Elongated tail of male up to 23 cm (9 in.) more. Male pale morph is all white with glossy blue-black head and throat. Primaries and shafts of flight feathers black. Male dark morph has the same glossy blue black head and throat with the white parts replaced by rufous colour.

Found in the Indian subcontinent through China, eastern Russia, Korea through South-East Asia to the Greater and Lesser Sundas. Northern residents migrate south during winter. In Malaysia it is a common resident, passage migrant and winter visitor at low elevations up to 1100 m. Found in forests, forest edge, wooded suburban gardens and mangroves.
