This is a Changeable Hawk-Eagle. It is 22 - 30 inches (56-75 cm). The reason for the
name Changeable Hawk-Eagle is due to the dual morph phases - a dark
morph and a pale morph. This one is the pale morph. Upperpart feathers
are dark brown with white fringes, underparts is supposed to be whitish
(which we did not see) with prominent dark mesial stripe and bold
streaks on breast and belly and a barely visible supercilium. Tail
brownish with narrow dark bands.

It is resident at low elevation and the dark morph is more common and
its habitats include forests, forest edges and plantations where this
bird was found. It is usually solitary or in pairs and hunts from both
the air and from perches.
