PRINCIPAL  ATTRACTIONS

The Beaches:
The principal attractions of the Department of Tumbes are the beautiful beaches of white sand and lukewarm waters. Since the department is located in a tropical zone, its possible to enjoy the sea breeze with sun, all year round.
It stands out to the North of the city of Tumbes, the beaches of Puerto Pizarro with its "Isla de Amor" and Isla Jeli", were it can be rented boats for small excursions.
To the South of the city, there are beaches such as: Playa Hermosa, Caleta Cruz, Caleta Grau, Puerto Loco, Santa Rosa and Zorritos, which is a small port were small fishing boats and yatchs of deep-sea fishing can land.
Heading more to the South is Bocapan, Cancas and Punta Sal.

MANGLARES (Mangroves):
Are vegetations formations, in shapes of extensive aquatic forests that grow in swampy areas and muddy lands giving a exotic atmosphere. In our country it's only found in these lands that are irrigated by the Tumbes river.
The Manglares extend from the left bank of the Tumbes river to the right side, being this area the mostly occupied by this vegetation all the way up to the International Channel of Punta Capones (Puerto Pizarro). In this area, there is a lot of Conchas Negras (Black Oysters). To be able to see this place its recommended to take a small trip on a boat in the Rio Tumbes -Desembocadura - Puerto Pizarro.
