Govt to fund $30m Defence Force recruitment campaign. 25-March-2007.
In the Vietman war Normal Australian standing troops and reserves were selected to go and fight for Australia by the Government of the day in which they had to take part in the drawing of a lottery ticket as patriots to go fight for Australia in what most were lead to believe it was for their country.
Now in just recent times the Australia Government has paid out in having turned some Australian troops into " Australian mercenaries " for this undeclared war and invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan countrys sovereignty.
It there for comes as a bit of a surprise Tonight Sunday 25-March-2007 to hear that The Federal Government is spending almost $30 million on a new advertising campaign to attract more recruits to the Australian Defence Force.
Defence Minister Brendan Nelson has also announced the military will introduce an alternative entry scheme for people who do not have formal high school qualifications.
The moves are part of a broader recruitment drive which also includes raising the compulsory Defence Force retirement age by five years to 60, and the recruitment age up to 56.
In the reported interview with the ( Australian military Defence Minister Brendan Nelson ) he has stated this is due to the fact that the Australian Military Recruitment campaign had NOT met with any good response from younger Australians in the ADF publicity campaign.
Also Labor defence spokesman Joel Fitzgibbon says more incentives are needed to attract recruits to the Defence Force.
It was also stated on this news report that the Australian Military Recruitment campaign are looking for more ( mature entrances ).
In that now the Australian Armed forces having put the age of acceptance up to 56 years old in that ( any one ) wanting to apply for a career in the Military can now do so.
It was also touched on that the fact that more mature entrance are needed to take over some of the dutys thats been handled in the middle east.
There was NO exclusions stated.
The only thing that was NOT stated in that we just can't assume nothing much any more least of all even being blind patriots as that died in the Vietnam war with a lot of other fine Australians there for now a days one has to wonder just what ( FLAG ) one would be covered by seeing how there are now two flags of Australia.
That one is of our Australian Governments own doing.
However it was good to hear that once again that regular Australian standing Troops ( patriots ) will be used and not paid Mercenaries !.
The BIG question is how do we sort out regular Australian standing Troops ( patriots ) and that of these Mercenaries in that will any of these Mercenaries be allowed to take part in our ANZAC day parade ?...Well will have to wait and see !.
Peter D Giles, 25-March-2007.
On their return from that Vietnam war they were spat on by their own fellow australians and crapped on by their own Australian Government in that also they were NOT permitted to even march in any ANZAC day parade up untill just recent times and yet they were The True Australian patriots.
It was also reported by Channel Nine on air that Dr Nelson had told Channel Nine the new TV, radio and newspaper ads will appeal to patriotism.
