WELCOME TO THE OPEN GATE THURSTON'S MEMORIAL GARDEN

We were blessed to have the opportunity to have our "friend" Thurston with us.

He brought us many hours of fun and playful times.

His tail...wagging, He would greet us as we came home and his eagerness to be petted made a smile brighten our faces

He is sadly missed and fondly remembered.

WHERE THE OPEN GATE COMES FROM

We choose this name for Thurston's memorial because throughout the years when our grandchildren would visit our household they would always leave our patio gate open as they played in our back yard...and Thurston never missed an opportunity to go on his own walk about, well actually "waddle" would more appropriately fit his adventures outside the gate. So how fitting to name his memorial site the Open Gate...because now he is free of pain able to romp and play and await our reuniting together at the Rainbow Bridge. Today I looked from my window and saw that once again that gate was open...and no one was home but myself. Could it be that some unseen hand undid the clasp to allow our Thurston to be "free"?

This site is dedicated to Thurston who passed away January 16, 2006. He was our buddy, our friend, and trusty companion.

Thurston's remains were returned into our care on February 8, 2006 and he has once again filled our hearts with joy.

Thurston Is waiting for us by the Rainbow Bridge.

We first resuced Thurston from a rather bad enviroment on July 2, 1996. He knew he had to win over JoAnn and he did so that very day! We took him home and he settled in immediately and one could tell just how grateful he was to be in the home of a loving family! This he showed to us each and every day he was with us even till the end!
