My notes from the August 21st Sunday School lesson taught by Brother Joe.

Peter 1:10.

Character is built by hard times.

We walk by faith and not by sight.

The end of my faith is when I go home to be with the Lord.

Grace - God's favor toward us that we don't deserve.

Grace came to us because of what Jesus did on the cross.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Romans 6:23 ...the gift of God is eternal life through Christ...

NOW THAT I AM SAVED, WHAT DO I DO?

It is not of works, but it is not of laziness neither.

1 Peter 1:13.  Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind...

Guard what you have been given.

Avoid panic

Guard against getting rattled.

Keep thoughts composed and be cool headed.

Whenever you are asked to do something, ask "Will this hinder my service to the Lord?"

KEEP YOUR MIND FOCUSED ON CHRIST!

If we allow the Holy Spirit to lead us, all our troubles will be gone.

The Spirit gives us a sound mind.

Keep your mind from even entertaining something that will cause you to sin.
