Graduation of "The Kings Cupbearers", the year after my father went home to glory. My brother Loren, brother-in-law Gail Burris, my sister Paula, then I are sitting in the front (center left side). Mother Mabel is next to me. The others, on the left and right side of us are the staff and faculty of Miracle, along with some guest missionaries. This would also be the last time the students of Miracle would wear the red and white uniforms, which my father had chosen for two reasons. First, he said it symbolized that the students were covered by the blood of Christ (salvation) and the (imputed) righteousness of Christ. Secondly, he said the Filipinos looked good in those colors together with their brown complexion. Those in the succeeding leadership had the colors switched to dark brown and cream colored tops. |
