Cooking at Old Miracle

A lot of students meant a lot of firewood and a lot of cooking. At Old Miracle the cooking area was built in the backyard. There were several large pots of rice and some type of main dish or "viand" which was usually a vegetable dish which had a lot of soup or broth. When funds were available, the meals would include some meat or fish as well.

Here, it looks like they're cooking in a large all in-one, pear shaped, clay stove c alled a "dalikan" which held the pots (on three large prongs) and then the wood was placed underneath the pots.
