Figure 4B.11. This is the diagram of two unusual tubes. On the left is the 7360 beam deflection tube. It is a 9 pin miniature type. The heater is connected to pins 4 and 5. The cathode goes to pin 1, grid number 1 to pin 3, grid number 2 to pin 2. Then there are the beam deflector elements. The left one looks like a less than sign with the electrical connection coming off the point on the left. The right one looks like a greater than sign with the electrical connection coming off the point on the right. The left deflector goes to pin 9 and the right deflector goes to pin 8. There are two plates in the tube. The left hand plate goes to pin 7 and the right one to pin 6. The other tube is a 6 eh R 8 which has 3 grids instead of two. The heater goes to pins 4 and 5. One side of the heater, pin 5, goes to grid 2. That's no mistake, I've checked it in three different tube manuals. Grid 2 is referred to as a shield in the Sylvania tube manual. The cathode goes to pin 7, grid 1 to pin 6, Grid 2 to pin 5, grid 3 to pin 3, left deflector to pin 2, right deflector to pin 1, left plate to pin 9, and right plate to pin 8. End of verbal description.
