The probe tip goes to one end of a 47 peco farad 500 volt capacitor, C1. The other end goes to the cathode of a diode, D1. The anode goes to common. The junction of the capacitor and diode goes to the anode of another diode, D2. The cathode of D2 goes to one end of another 47 p f capacitor, C2. The other end of C2 goes to common. There is a 100 k ohm resistor in parallel with C2. The junction of D2, C2, and the resistor goes to the center connector of the plug that fits the jack on your signal tracer. The common goes to the shell - ground of the plug. This completes the verbal description.
