Termite Repair
Drywood termites had ravaged some of the exterior trim of this Poway home. The customer called us in to repair the damage after the exterminators finished their task of killing off the little nasty critters!
This view shows the termite damage to the beam.
Step 1: remove the old beam and check for damage to the adjacent wood. With no other infestation indicated we can proceed.
Step 2: Go out and buy a replacement beam, take it home and burn it up! Next sand blast it to remove the char!
Why, you ask? To make it match the grain of the existing wood that has been treated in much the same manner
Next step: A coat of industrial primer to seal the wood.
Finally, two coats of trim paint supplied by customer.
Here is a close-up view of the grained surface after painting.
Next comes the delivery and installation at the customer's home.
