Pass it on |
|
I was 13 years old when I first heard the song Pass It On, while attending a youth meeting in Ridgecrest, NC. I was so touched by the way the song was introduced. At the onset of the meeting they handed each of us a candle and told us we would need it at the end of the service so not to misplace it. As the meeting came to a close the lights were dimmed and all of a sudden one candle was lit and each person passed the first candle to the next person as the song Pass It On was sang repeatedly until all the candles had been lit. I did not know at that time the song was a well known tune as I'd never been part of Girl Scouts. Some of you grew up knowing this song and I thought the message in the song was worth jogging some memories.
