Hieronymus Bosch

See also: [Pieter Brugel, the Elder] Hierronymus Bosch aka Jeoen Anthoiszoon. (b. ca.1450, Hertogenbosch (Bois-le-Duc, Neth); d. 1516, Hertogenbosh). Little is known of him other than his association with a monkish order known as The Brotherhood of our Lady. Best known for his tryptic of three paintings: Garden of Earthly Delights. Which also contains a dipiction of hell and what to expect if the would be devout were to turn away from the "true church". His main ability to was to transform the vague and highly symbolic ideas (both religious and material) into what we would have to call "surrealist", "symbolist", and of course breath-takingly realistic and creative.
