Artis: Craft

See also: [Art Materials] [Art Technique] [Art Terms] [Art THINGS] (sort of a catch-all) To do art, we need a "process" -- an so we have to: GO TO THE NET!!! "We don't have to go to the net, I just like saying that". -- Artist "Jane Lane" in "Daria". Startings Maybe a theme? Something about "friendship" or "fun", etc. Maybe a technique? Watercolour, PinchPot, etc Maybe a theoretical thing? Composition, juxtaposition, etc. Doings Do. Critique!! Show -- show some stuff that you did. Or: Something that someone else did A "chalk talk" of slides or stuff A film, a song, danse, etc. Talk -- talk about your or someone else's work in the critique. Ask -- what does this mean? Why did you do that? (or not) -- Sometimes we must be the "pure" magician and not say ANYTHING (Andy Warhol was famous for that). Sometimes by talking and explaining we take a LOT of the great parts of the artwork away. Sometimes art DOES need a "bit of help" so that people will get it; eg, we may have to explain the symbols or ideas behind the work or we may have to explain a bit about ourselves.
