It has long been known of a certain concept known by names such as
"the un-watched tea kettle" (which never boils), a mysteriously
re-occurring number (eg, 23, 42, 11, or even 137 or 138). This
phenomenon has been assigned to this entry in the index.

Your current narrator (a humble librarian in the library of 
the infinite city -- see map) has investigated/noticed this 
phenomemon many, many occasions. For instance,

In the early days of logarithmic computation (see map) mathematicians
noticed that the "1's" section of their logarithm tables were FAR more
worn out than other sections. If the problems that they were calcualting
(all applied engineering, physics, etc -- that is, not pure maths problems,
but rather applied numerical analysis: Solving equations for specific
values (decimal points, significant figures, etc) were RANDOM (as they
should have been), then ... You see the problem: Why was it that so
many more problems started with "1" rathern than a more-or-less even
distribution?

Similarly, we have all experienced the "i was just thinking of you
the other day" and other sorts of either deja vu, ante', etc.

Oddly enough, the duck (or at least a "certain duck") is crops up
in the oddest of places. And the duck (ducks in general whether
be of divers kinds; eg, dabblers, divers, etc) are usefull as memory
joggers, idea generators, and of course simply AS ducks. 

For example, whilest contemplating the duck (as sort of an semi-abstract
concept or something like that), i "discoverd" an apparent hidden
anomyoly (or rather an as yet supposed/exposed non-annomoly) in the 
nature of self referential forms of iconospheric cross products. 
(I actually worked this out BACKWARDS (as we all do, when creating
exercises in algebra in factoring; after all, we don't want the
answer to be somehting like x = 17/3's or x = -3/12 +/- 16/3i or
something, thus we "cheat" so that the answer will be someghing 
like x=3, x=-8  or x=3+2i, x=3-2i, etc). Thus, i'm not nearly as
smart as i look (i mean wokring it forwards THAT would take genuine
genius, not this non-genuine stuff that i trade in.

Thus:  Humanist x Humanist (amnesty, action) --> a "certain duck"

In this case, a specific duck; a beutifully, mottle brown female mallard
(mama) duck. Isn't life sometimes (quite supprisingly) just so beautiful
that you think that you might just live afterall?
