My name is Teri Leah Starrett Burke. I was born in Birmingham, Alabama in July of 1967.  I am a daughter, a sister, a wife and a mother. I have two children, ages 5 and 7.  Their names are Ford and Stone Burke, respectively.   I enjoy spending time with my family but I also enjoy amateur photography and creating stained-glass art.

 

 

 

I have always enjoyed working with children and spent summer vacations working at  camps in Alabama and Maine.  I was a camp counselor and also responsible for the swimming program.  It was a great experience to teach these children, but more importantly, to learn from the children and to experience their different cultures and backgrounds. 

 

I was an office manager for a physician practice for 12 years.  I enjoyed my job but I did not have a passion for it.  With the support of my family and friends I retired from my position and returned to school to follow my dreams.  I plan to one day have a job that I will love.
