Luang Phor Tim

Wat Lahanrai, Rayong

B.E.2422 to B.E.2518

LP Tim Wat LahanRai Phim Niyom B.E.2518 (Picture contributed by a friend from Bangkok, Thailand)

A very beautiful rian own by a colleague working in Rayong, Thailand. I just joined a new company and saw him with his Jatukam hanging ostentatiously on his neck in the orientation for all those that had just joined the company. While during the tea-break, I expressed my interest in his possession. We continued to share/exchange knowledge and information for our idiosyncratic hobby. Next day, he forwarded me with the picture above, a newly acquired collection of his.

Other than knowing someone that shares the same hobby, I rented a Louk Om from 555 (www.siamamulets.com) during this period. Louk Om can be described as a Magical Ball. They are usually made from left-over materials, either powder used for making amulets or some residues for other religious purpose. The Louk Om shown below is coated with a thin layer of gold paint and fungus is seen populating on the surface as a result of oxidation.

Short note: - Siamamulets.com is a forum for amulets collectors. The most distinguish part is their prize collection under the “Hall of Fame” thread. Many beautiful amulets that had won in many competitions held in Thailand. Apart from that, many will agree with me that 555 keeps a good collection of LP Tim amulets.

Verse of Transference

“May this virtuous merits;

Adorn the Buddha Pure Land;

Repaying four kinds of kindness above;

and avoiding those sufferings in the three paths below.

May those who see and hear of this;

All bring forth the Bodhi resolves;

When this retribution is over;

Be born together in the Land of ultimate Bliss.”
