Paletta, 61, of the Bronx, NY died May 15, 2001. He was born to Ermete and Josephine DeLeonardis Paletta. Mr. Paletta retired from the New York City Transit Authority in 1996. Mr. Paletta was credited for designing a subway turnstile vault that saved the NYCTA over two million dollars annually. He is survived by children Debra Ann Carfagno of Katonah, NY and Justin Paletta of Putnam County, NY, grandchildren Richard A. Carfagno and Kathryn Marie Paletta, sister Mary Lou Paletta of Ossining, NY and brother Anthony V. Paletta of Albany, NY. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Hospital on June 9 at 2:30 pm.
