PGSM - Act Nine

Luna recaps how Jadiete tried to attack the senshi, but failed. Still, this means that the enemy is getting stronger... and all Usagi can do is think about Tuxedo Kamen...

Theme song.

Inside a hotel, an assortment of jewels are on display, including one very large diamond. As random kid looks at it, the lights flick out, and when they come back on, the diamond is gone.
Cut to Tux running away, diamond in hand. (At least it's silver this time!)

The next morning, Saturday, Usagi finally crawls out of bed and flicks on the TV. Anio Minako is in London, recording a new song. Usagi swoons for awhile until she hears the next news story: About Master Jewel Thief Tuxedo Kamen.
He says that he's looking for the Mystical Silver Crystal, and he'll do anything to find it. The announcer says that the crystal is worth millions of yen.
Which sends everybody on a crystal hunting frenzy.

The girls discuss this at Crown. Ami thinks that with more people looking, someone is bound to find it, but Luna and Rei agree that this is a bad thing. The only one that's supposed to have the MSC is the princess. Makoto says either way they can't trust Tux, because he's a thief.
Usagi protests, reminding them of all the times that Tux has saved them - and she's sure that it's not a trick.
Makoto starts to wonder if maybe Usagi likes Tux.
They go around all going "eh?" in surprise, as Usagi flashes back to when she bandaged his hand in Act Seven.

Later, Usagi admits to herself that she does like him - even loves him - but she can't tell the others. She isn't sure how, but she just knows he has a good reason for all of the stuff he's doing.

Mamoru has a dream of a shadowy girl, asking him to bring him the MSC. And then we finally get definitive evidence that he's Tux - he's got the hat and mask in his apartment. He vows he will find the MSC, but as he picks up his Tux outfit, the handkerchief that Moon used to bandage his hand falls out, and he also flashes back to the same scene.

In the Dark Kingdom, Jadiete is still unconscious, floating midair in front of Beryl. She says that he always makes foolish mistakes... but she likes his determination. She passes her hands over him and turns him into a rock... of the mineral jadiete of course. She tells Jadiete-the-rock to rest and gather his energies, and then she carries him off.
Nephrite is watching, and he is jealous. (I guess he wants to become a rock too) He doesn't like the fact that Beryl gives her love to Jadiete and Zoisite as well as to him. He has to hurry and find the MSC so that Beryl will like him best. He decides to keep an eye on Tux, and once Tux finds the MSC, he'll take it from him.

Meanwhile, the MSC hunt is on, as many people continue to bring crystals forth. Even Usagi's mother gets in on it, thinking it's possible a crystal necklace of hers could be the MSC. There are also a lot of false Tuxedo Kamens running around, which leads to an interesting fantasy by Usagi as she imagines all sorts of different ones in different outfits, but all variants on the same theme.

A strange man appears at Rei's temple - the president of Narita products. He thinks he has the MSC, but with all of the jewel thefts going on, he wants protection, and he thinks that Rei's sixth sense would be good.

At school, Usagi is worried about Tux. While she is pondering this, Naru pops up and scares her. She's very perceptive (Or she read the script) and she asks if Usagi was daydreaming about somebody she likes. Usagi says there is someone she likes, but she doesn't see him that much, and she doesn't really know who he is. Naru tells her to be more aggressive. She'll never be able to get together with this guy if she doesn't try.

Later at Crown, Rei reveals what happened, and says that she doesn't know what help she could be. She doesn't even want to help this guy.
Ami takes a deep breath and volunteers. She'll dress up as Rei and go in her place. Makoto decides to go too, just in case Tuxedo Kamen shows up to cause trouble. At the mention of Tux, Usagi also volunteers to go.
Luna reminds her, very sternly and with an angry stuffed animal kitty face, that Tuxedo Kamen is their enemy.

The next day, Ami, dressed as Rei, arrives at the Narita building, and settles down to study... err.. protect the crystal until the expert arrives. For some odd reason, Ami's glasses squeak when she adjusts them.
Outside, Makoto and Usagi are keeping an eye on things. Makoto uses her phone to turn into a policewoman, and Usagi turns into a gardener. Both are keeping an eye out for Tux but for quite different reasons.
The expert arrives and the possible MSC is revealed. It is silver and it is pretty. The three senshi wait anxiously to find out if it is the real one, when Usagi spots a figure in a top had and tuxedo.
But the place is crawling with police
After hearing Luna and Naru argue in her head, Usagi decides she has to take action.

The expert declares that the crystal could possibly maybe be the MSC, when a shout of "It's Tuxedo Mask!" sends Narita and Ami running to the window.
Well, it's sort of Tuxedo Mask...
Usagi has used her phone to dress as Tux, and is running around getting the police to follow her. Then she takes the real Tuxedo Mask to safety.
While Usagi is causing a distraction, the Expert picks up the crystal to take it, but gets caught by Ami.
He grabs the crystal and runs outside, where he hands it over to Nephrite.
The shitennou takes the crystal and releases the expert from his spell.
Nephrite is about to leave when he gets cornered by Makoto and Ami. They both Make Up. Nephrite leaves before they get to give their intros, so they chase him through the woods. Once they catch up, they do their intros: "In the name of Mercury and Jupiter, we shall punish you"
Nephrite has the best response ever: "What the heck are you guys talking about?" and then he blasts them.

Meanwhile, Usagi suddenly realizes that the real Tuxedo Mask probably would not have needed her help... and sure enough, he takes off his mask and it's not the real him. (Since she's never seen the real Tux, I'm not sure how she knows this...) Not only is he not the real Tuxedo Mask, he's also a rather creepy guy, so she throws him to the police - literally.
Unfortunately, she's still dressed like Tux, so now the police chase her into a dead end. She's trapped.
A voice calls to her to transform, and she says "Oh duh!" and so she does.

Nephrite continues to blast Mercury and Jupiter, until they look at each other, nod, and cartwheel and otherwise flip over to him. The two attack, Shine Aqua Illusion and Flower Hurricane, but Nephrite generates a cool looking red shield and reflects their attack back.
During the course of the fight, he drops the crystal and it shatters. Well, that's the end of that. The MSC wouldn't be harmed by something as simple as a fall. (Actually, I'd think any real crystal shouldn't be...) So, since that's not the MSC, Nephrite is no longer interested and he vanishes.

Later that night, the police are still looking for Tuxedo Mask. Moon is hiding with the real one.
She feels silly for trying to save the imposter. But she also asks him why he told everyone about the MSC.
He says it's because he doesn't have powers like they do, but he needs the MSC so that he can find out who he is. He doesn't elaborate, but he does flash back to his dream.
Moon says that he's saved her so many times, but she doesnt' know what he looks like.
To which Tux replies that it's better that way, and he hurries off, leaving Moon gazing wistfully after him.

Back at Crown, they update Rei on what happened. Makoto and Usagi argue about Tuxedo Mask. Makoto still doesn't think they should trust a thief, which sends Usagi into a sulk. Ami goes over to comfort Usagi, and gets a big hug. (Usagi cheers up quickly)
Luna is just glad that the crystal hunting craze has died down.
But, as Ami points out, they still didn't find the MSC. Luna wonders if maybe it is with the princess. This seems to be a great revelation, although I'm not sure why.

Zoisite is writing a song, with a large feather quill, on pretty rainbow paper. His song is called "A Requiem for a Princess"
