For a long time I have thought about what it might be like to be a missionary. I have always been interested in different cultures and their traditions and ways of life. I've done some research on the subject, like finding out how other countries receive missionaries, what the bible says about “The Great Commission”, what types of people are in the most need for mission work, and what organizations sponsor or support mission work. One of the few resources I found in my research, however, was a direct source. I could not find any detailed accounts or personal testimonies from people who had experienced the life of a missionary.
So, I went out and asked around, found people I knew who had done mission trips before, and interviewed them. The results were astounding! I now have a vivid image in my mind of what the life of a missionary is like. From long term to short term missions, I have a working source of information that is personal and real. The pictures that my candidates provided for this website also painted a very real image of life in a different culture and helped to shape the overall experienced of a missionary in my mind.
I hope for this website to be an informative resource for those seeking knowledge on missionary work or those interested in becoming a missionary someday. Below are picture links to the 4 people I interviewed on this information journey. Feel free to wander from each story to the next. I hope they bless you as much they blessed me!
I would also like to give a special thanks to John and Rogeria Arnold, Christine Edwards, Pastor Alison Crawford, and Kayla Renz for their interviews and the pictures they shared from their trips. Thank you also for the work you have done to make a difference in the world. The impact that you have made, no matter how small, will always be remembered in the lives that you touched. God Bless you all.
