Teacher, engineer remanded on rape, sodomy charges
A TEACHER lured a schoolgirl to his cousin's house and the two of them, in turn, raped and sodomised her, a Court was told Tuesday.

Before Magistrate Maxwell Edwards, at the time, were teacher and University of Guyana (UG) student Junior Alexander and his relative Lawrence Adams, who were both refused bail and remanded to prison.

Alexander (no address given) and Abrams, of Lot 146 South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown, are charged with having carnal knowledge of the 14-year-old on April 13 and 14, in that order.

Alexander also faced another charge of sodomising the teen.

Both accused was required to plea to the indictable charges and they will be back in Court on May 6.

Police Inspector Kevin Adonis, prosecuting, said Alexander invited the student to meet him at the house where Adams lives, so the former could help her with a school assignment.

But on completion of the project, Alexander refused to let her leave and the victim became unconscious during the sexual assault, the Prosecutor said.

Adonis said Adams arrived home the next day and he too, had forced sex with the teenager.
