Ever since
Nina was a little girl, she had began collecting figurines
called Precious Moments. They depict love, friendship,
peace, and nature.
Over the years, her collection has grown quite large, and
in fact now are in display in her curio in our living
room. During a trip down to Nashville, we happened to pass
the official Precious Moments campus, which includes a
park, a chapel, and many other sites to visit -all with
the theme of the characters. She mentioned that if I ever
asked her to marry her, that she'll really like to get
married there, in the Precious Moments Chapel. At the
time, I laughed it off. Months later, once I proposed to
her, and she asked me in the most precious manner, if we
could please get married there.. -and I said yes. I didn't
want to hold her back from that much pleasure, as I love her so
very dearly.. -Jim :-)

I proposed
to Nina recently, and she said yes !! :-)
We were married at the end of February, and had a
wonderful time. :-)
Only close family was invited, and so, we had a small,
loving ceremony in southern Missouri -which was the
halfway point between us, and all the family members.
My parents, brother, nieces & nephew all attended, and
since we stayed several days, we were able to play, have
fun, and had a basic family reunion of sorts -very nice to
see everyone. :-) |

We planned to arrive to Carthage, MO a few days early, on
Saturday afternoon -to get settled, relax, and maybe swim.
On Sunday, we took a lot of pictures, visited with
family, relaxed, toured the official
Precious Moments Park,
and other fun stuff.

Mom had graciously volunteered to be our official
Photographer, and so we are extremely grateful about that.
In addition, it was the first time in quite a while
that all our family has been together, so we took
several family photos while we were there. The pictures of the
Chapel
in their website are beautiful, and will make
a great background for photos. |
Well, I wanted
to make sure the proposal was romantic, and something Nina
would remember forever.. -I debated about us going out for
a wonderful dinner, or perhaps out to Sailorville Lake -we
both love it there, it's close to our hearts, and is very
romantic.
Well, I planned a nice/casual dinner for us that night..
-we made ribs and other favorites, and were having a great
night. We ate dinner downstairs, and watched her favorite
movie -everything was going great, and having a nice time.
After dinner & the movie, I shut off the TV, and opened a
bottle of champagne (actually sparkling cider), and told
her I wanted to make a toast.
I asked her to keep her eyes closed, while I made the
toast, which went like this:
Nina, I just wanted to let you
know that I love you so very much, and you mean the
world to me. You've made me happier than I've ever been
in my life, and you make my heart & soul complete. I
love you so much, and I'm so happy & excited about our
future together. Thank you for being my soulmate, and
for us sharing our lives together.
And with
her eyes still closed, holding the champagne:
Will you marry me ?
Nina opened
her eyes and looked at me, and tears started running down
her face, and she said "Yes !!"
She was in shock, and yet she knew something was going on.
She was all smiles, and I asked her again, and she said
Yes (again), and gave me a
very tight, loving hug & kiss..
I then reached under the couch, and slowly opened a small
box. Her eyes lit up big time, as I ever so slowly opened
the box, to reveal a beautiful engagement ring, which I
then placed on her finger, kissed it, and then kissed her
on the cheek. Again, telling her how much I love her.
After a few more minutes, I then took the pix you see
(above). :-) |
